The Grand Cherokee is Jeep’s midsize SUV, running seven trims from the $38,920 Laredo to the $60,600 Summit, with the three-row Grand Cherokee L covering the same ladder for $2,000 more at every rung. Two engines: the 293-horsepower 3.6L Pentastar V6 on the Laredo and Laredo X, and the 324-horsepower 2.0L Hurricane 4 Turbo from the Laredo Altitude up. Both run on regular 87 octane. Properly equipped with a conventional hitch, the Grand Cherokee is rated to tow 6,200 lbs, which covers most boats headed out to the Highland Lakes.
2026 is a real refresh, not a carryover year. The Hurricane turbo is new to the vehicle, paired with a new Gen IV eight-speed automatic; the grille, fascias and headlamps are redesigned; the dashboard is new, with a 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen from the Laredo Altitude up. A Hands-Free Active Driving Assist System is newly available, and an 85th Anniversary Edition joins the lineup. The 4xe plug-in hybrid is discontinued. At the top, the Summit brings Quadra-Lift air suspension and a McIntosh system with 19 speakers and up to 950 watts.
