2027 Chrysler Pacifica: Life After the Voyager

September 7th, 2026 by

One nameplate, one engine, four trims. The Pacifica lineup finally makes sense.

Chrysler cleaned up the minivan aisle for 2027. The Voyager badge is retired, a new LX trim sits at the bottom of the Pacifica lineup in its place, and the plug-in hybrid is off the menu entirely. If you spent last year trying to figure out whether a loaded Voyager or a stripped Pacifica was the smarter buy, that question just answered itself. Here is what the new lineup looks like, what it costs, and which version actually fits how Austin families use a van.

What Changed

SO WHAT ACTUALLY CHANGED FOR 2027?

Four things, and they all point the same direction: fewer choices, clearer choices.

  • The Voyager nameplate is gone. Chrysler folded the entry-level minivan back into the Pacifica family as the new LX trim, so there is one van, one name, one ladder to climb.
  • The Pacifica Hybrid plug-in is discontinued. No PHEV version is offered for 2027. If someone tells you they can order one, they cannot.
  • One engine, top to bottom. Every 2027 Pacifica runs the 3.6L Pentastar V6 rated at 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.
  • A new face. Chrysler redesigned the front fascia with vertical LED headlights, and the 2027 Pacifica is the first production vehicle to wear the brand’s new wing logo, timed to Chrysler’s 100th anniversary.

That last one matters more than you would think on a walkaround. The old Pacifica nose was soft and anonymous. The vertical lighting signature gives it some presence in a school pickup line, and the new wing badge is the first thing people notice when they see it parked next to a 2026.

The Engine

ONE ENGINE MEANS ONE LESS DECISION

Losing the plug-in hybrid stings if you were counting on charging at home and running errands around Bee Cave on battery alone. Practically speaking, though, the gas-only lineup removes a fork in the road that confused a lot of shoppers. Every 2027 Pacifica gets the Pentastar V6 (287 hp, 262 lb-ft), front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available on every trim except the LX.

Pentastar V6s have been in Chrysler and Jeep products for years, our service department knows them cold, and parts are not exotic. For a vehicle you plan to keep through two rounds of car seats and a decade of Lake Travis swim practice, that familiarity is worth something.

The Numbers

THE 2027 PACIFICA TRIM LADDER AND PRICING

Prices below are MSRP before destination. Destination is added on top, and your out-the-door number will include Texas tax, title, and license.

Trim Drivetrain FWD MSRP AWD MSRP
LX FWD only $41,495 Not offered
Select FWD or AWD $43,545 $46,540
Limited FWD or AWD $47,995 $50,990
Pinnacle FWD or AWD $54,910 $57,905

Where the LX makes sense

At $41,495 the LX is the volume play for families who want the room and the doors and do not need the leather. It is front-drive only, which is the one real limitation. Buyers coming out of an older Voyager or a high-mileage crossover tend to land here, and honestly, most of them are happy. Same engine, same body, same sliding doors as the van parked next to it with a $13,000 higher sticker.

Where the extra money goes

Climbing to Select, Limited, or Pinnacle buys comfort, interior materials, and convenience content rather than capability. Nothing up the ladder makes the van faster or roomier. Pinnacle is the one that feels like a lounge inside, and it is also the one where families with long highway runs to San Antonio or Dallas tend to end up. Equipment moves around from year to year, so call us and we will read you the exact build sheet on the specific van you are considering instead of guessing from a brochure.

AWD Or Not

FRONT-WHEEL DRIVE OR ALL-WHEEL DRIVE AROUND HERE?

All-wheel drive runs $2,995 on Select, Limited, and Pinnacle. Straight answer: most Central Texas families do not need it. Austin gets a handful of genuinely nasty days a year, and a front-drive van on good tires handles almost all of them.

There are real reasons to check the box, though. Steep wet driveways in West Lake Hills and the hills off RM 2244 get slick fast. Gravel and caliche roads out toward Spicewood, Dripping Springs, and Marble Falls chew up traction. And if you leave town for ski trips or head north on I-35 in January, AWD earns its keep a few times a year. Skip it if your driving is school, H-E-B, and MoPac.

What Matters

WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS WHEN YOU SHOP A MINIVAN

Seats, and how often you move them

Nobody buys a van for horsepower. You buy it because the second and third rows do things an SUV cannot. With the plug-in hybrid out of the lineup, the whole 2027 range is a gas van, and the gas Pacifica’s party trick is second-row seats that fold flat into the floor rather than coming out and living in your garage. If you regularly haul lumber, bikes, or a mountain of luggage, go sit in one and actually fold the seats before you sign anything. Five minutes in the parking lot tells you more than any spec sheet.

Cargo, described honestly

Behind the third row you have a deep well that swallows a Costco run. Fold the third row and you have a flat load floor. Drop the second row too and the Pacifica turns into something close to a small moving van. We are not going to quote you cubic feet numbers, because the figure that matters is whether your specific stroller, your specific hockey bag, or your specific dog crate fits. Bring the gear to the store and we will load it.

Safety and driver assistance

Driver assistance content shifts between trims and packages, and the content list on a given van is the sort of thing worth verifying rather than assuming. When you call or stop by, ask us to pull the window sticker on the exact VIN. It takes about a minute and it tells you precisely which systems are on that vehicle instead of which ones are theoretically available somewhere in the lineup.

Budget For This

BUDGET FOR THE PARTS PEOPLE FORGET

  • Destination charge. Added to every MSRP above, so the sticker you see on the van will be higher than the numbers in that table.
  • Texas sales tax at 6.25%. On a Limited AWD, that is real money. If you lease, Texas works differently: the leasing company pays tax up front on the vehicle’s purchase price, and your monthly payment is not separately taxed.
  • Inspection. Texas dropped the annual safety inspection for non-commercial vehicles as of January 1, 2025, but Travis County is still one of the 17 emissions counties, so Austin registrations need the emissions test.
  • Coverage. New vehicles carry a 3-year/36,000-mile basic limited warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty with roadside assistance. Mopar FlexCare is the extended plan if you want to stretch that out, and it comes in a few tiers.

The Straight Answer

WHAT WE WOULD TELL YOU IF YOU CALLED RIGHT NOW

Come drive an LX first, even if you are pretty sure you want a Limited. It is the cleanest way to feel what the money above it is buying, and a fair number of shoppers walk out of that drive deciding the base van is plenty. Bring the car seats. Bring the stroller. Park it next to whatever you drive now so the size difference stops being abstract.
